School Rules
- Courteous behaviour and consideration for others is expected at all times. Obvious signs of this are that students should address members of staff politely and should stand when the Headteacher or visitors enter the room. Students are expected to conduct themselves so that they do not cause injury to others, damage to property or harm to themselves.
- It is essential that ALL incidents are reported to the Headteacher or Assistant Headteachers without delay and that if any physical injury to a person has resulted, the details of the accident are entered in the first aid book which is available in the school office.
- Every student must wear school uniform in school, when travelling to and from school and on school trips, unless given permission to do otherwise.
- All personal possessions should be clearly marked with the owner's name.
- Students who wish to leave school during the day must first obtain permission from the Assistant Headteacher or their school tutor, and then 'sign out' using the book kept in the school office. Students coming into school at any time other than normal registration times must 'sign in' using the book kept in the school office.
- Students staying in school for the mid-day break must remain on the premises unless they have previously obtained their parent's permission to leave and have been granted a lunch-time pass.
- Students who are absent must bring a note to their form teacher when they return, unless parents/guardians have notified the school whilst the student is absent. If they are away for three days or more, parents must notify the school on the third day.
- No pupils should be absent from school (except through illness) without permission from the Headteacher, who will only give it in special circumstances.
- Incomplete homework must be explained by a note from parents.
- Students with long hair may be required to tie it back for PE, Games, in any of the workshops and in the laboratories.
- Borrowing of PE kit is not allowed except with the permission of PE staff.
- In the interests of personal safety, the wearing of jewellery should be kept to an absolute minimum. Details are on the uniform list. Piercings on the face, tongue or body are not allowed.
- Students may not bring any motorised vehicle to school without the prior permission of the Headteacher.
- Eating and/or drinking are not allowed at any time except in the Dining Hall, sandwich room or on the field.
- Students must not smoke on the school premises or on their way to and from school. Cigarettes and matches must not be brought into school.
- Chewing gum is forbidden at all times.
- Mobile phones, mobile music systems, iPods and MP3 players etc. are not allowed in school. Any pupils found to be using any of these items will have them taken away and parents will be contacted in order for them to collect them from the School Office.
