ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT To help us, help you, all pupils are expected to have the following equipment for every lesson: Ruler Compass Protractor Scientific calculator (We recommend Sharp calculators, which are available from school for £5) HOMEWORK To encourage independent learners, homework is increasingly given using the website www.mymaths.co.uk. Pupils are issued with individual passwords and receive immediate feedback and an ongoing record of their work and progress. If access to a computer at home is a problem, pupils can gain access to computers in school at designated times. REVISION As a department we work hard to make sure that pupils of all levels have enough tools to reach their potential and encourage pupils to access these as their exams draw nearer. These include: • Revision sessions: Our annual 10 week GCSE after school revision programme begins after February half term. This offers a structured but less formal, atmosphere. • From teachers: Past exam papers, revision books, revision cd’s and revision schedules. • VLE: Interactive exam papers and past papers available. • Independent learning using www.mymaths.co.uk booster packs. |
