Lynn Grove's Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is impressive by any standards; in size, décor and for the range of resources available. The LRC is open plan and air-conditioned and contains over 12,000 books and 42 PCs, spread over two floors. Sections of this independent learning area are available for whole form groups to be accommodated during lesson times. Teachers bring pupils in to research topics and reinforce learning. Work can be enhanced using Vista on the PCs and by using the LRC's printing facilities. It also has an interactive whiteboard and a plasma screen TV in the conferencing area which are often used for teaching and training activities.

Head of the LRC, Mrs Bowles, is very happy to help pupils, students and teachers find what is being looked for; be it in books or on the internet. LRC Assistants, Miss Ross and Miss Dobinson are equally enthusiastic about offering any support that is needed.

We have introduced the Eclipse.net Library System which manages all the books and resources and incorporates the use of Identikit, a finger recognition unit. This system allows pupils to be issued with books and eliminates the need for library cards. To search or browse our list of resources click on Eclipse Catalogue. A new service Eclipse has been added to recommend websites and save search results.

Quiet reading lessons are also held in the LRC.  It is also being popularly used for completing homework, revision or coursework in the quiet environment.
